I made / customized these dolls already a couple of years ago, inspired by characters from my novel; Ilya and Johnny. Now I've translated that novel in English.
Ilya is an androgynous "demi-boy" (gender-queer or non-binary) with whom Johnny, who has lost his leg in an accident, falls in love, even though he hasn’t previously dared to admit that he’s not heterosexual.
The name of the novel is:
”One-legged, Whole-minded, Half-gay", and it tells about that how does the
seemingly civilized school community, or the rest of the world, see those two.
What is the position of a particularly sensitive, introverted, genderqueer,
dissident, neurodivergent, or person having mental health problems or
functional limitations in a world built on the terms of normative people? And
if love is a vital medicine, who has the right to limit its sharing?
